
INSTRUCTIONAL PLANNING AND DESIGN FOR READING REMEDIATION - MA READ 5-MA READ LQ-NS-5
The course identifies and addresses the special needs of students from diverse cultures, socioeconomic levels, and other groups throughout the curriculum. Using the results of reading assessment tools administered, students are taught various approaches in planning effective lessons so that at the end of the course delivered synchronously and asynchronously, they are expected to demonstrate research-based strategies for effective remedial reading instruction, with respect to the inclusion of gender-fair practices in assessment and instruction, and educational interaction and instruction.
As expert practitioners and research scholars in the field of reading literacy, students are required to review previous learning as regards assessment and case study reports of a student experiencing reading difficulty. From this, students are tasked to propose an appropriate instructional plan for remediation based on assessment results.
