
TRENDS AND ISSUES IN ANDRAGOGY AND PEDAGOGY - MA ECED 5-MA ECED LQ 3
This course aims to equip students with knowledge on trends and issues in pedagogy and andragogy, specifically tailored to fit the early childhood education with special reference to ten (10) ECE program components from multiple perspectives of a teacher, leader, or school/district/division administrator. The course focuses on three (3) broad themes: (1) critical analysis of the trends and issues in pedagogy and andragogy, and how it may affect the education system, (2) investigation of theory-driven and research-based recommendations to address the issues, and (3) research on potential solutions to resolve the issues by enhancing their professional writing and presentation skills. The highlight of this course is on the preparation and presentation of individual case studies that address an issue they observed or experienced in the Philippine education system. Although the results cannot be generalized, it will shed light on their potentials to promote a culture of research and influence their decision-making skills supported by principles, theories, policies and research.
