
COMMUNITY PREPARED AND DISASTER MITIGATION - OBTEC 1-I-10 2GED_XMST1 (T/F 09:00AM-11:00AM/09:00AM-11:00AM)
This 3-unit lecture course focuses on the natural and man-made disasters occurring in our daily interaction with the environment.
It primarily aims to promote awareness in identifying risks, hazards and vulnerabilities of an impending calamity, resulting to an informed citizenry that is capable of responding prudently on the situation, maintaining mental health and continuing to become productive citizens.
The course content and its output are designed to enhance the students’ critical and analytical skills by deepening the students’ understanding on the cause-and-effect relationship of mitigating the risks and vulnerabilities for a particular a disaster.
This can be made evident through various output that embodies the principles of disaster risk reduction and management (DRRM).
