MANAGING THE LEARNING ENVIRONMENT - BCAED-TP 2-II-26 BCAED TPROFED05 (M/TH 01:00PM-03:00PM/01:00PM-03:00PM)

This course equips pre-service teachers with knowledge and strategies to design learning environments that optimize learning through classroom structures and activities that enhance learner engagement, self-regulation, and motivation. Students explore best practices in promoting purposive learning, supporting academic achievement, nurturing and respecting diversity in varied learning contexts. They study the teacher’s role in creating positive learning environments that foster lifelong learning; managing discipline problems, interpersonal conflicts, and cultivating a safe, secure, fair, respectful, caring, and inclusive learning climate. It emphasizes socio-emotional learning and inculcates empathy, human-centered problem-solving, compassion for others, honor, and effective leadership as critical values to integrate in a learning environment. They develop a comprehensive Learning Environment Management Plan (LEMP) to guide them in building a favorable environment to facilitate effective learning.
