The course introduces students to the basic principles and methods of research and the review and critical analysis of literature related to language, language development or language teaching. It gives students exposure to types of language research, research design, instrument development, data coding, tabulation, analysis and interpretation research. In using these skills and knowledge, students prepare a language research proposal where the background of the study, previous related researches and methodology are described and justified through an oral defense.
