EDUCATIONAL EVALUATION - MA EAE 5-1 EAE 706(T2 SY2026-2027)
MA EAE
The course introduces students to basic concepts, issues, theories, and models in evaluation (e.g. Stufflebeam’s CIPP Model, Scriven’s
Model, Tyler’s Model, Provus’ Model, Kirkpatrick’s Model, etc.). It engages students in a critical examination of different evaluation studies applied in educational setting, including those related to curriculum evaluation, and how they compare with research studies.
The students will be introduced to major evaluation theorists and models and the historical development of program evaluation. The course is also designed to expose students to the processes in conducting program evaluation, which include determining the evaluation approach to use in a given context and developing an evaluation plan. At the end of the course, the students should be able to present an evaluation study proposal using any of the evaluation models and data collection methods.
